Bonham Independent School District has been recognized by the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle as a recipient of the Platinum Seal Award for financial transparency. This is the third year that BISD has earned recognition in the Leadership Circle. The Platinum Seal Award is the highest level achievable and highlights those entities that are setting the bar with their transparency efforts.
According to their website, the Comptroller of Public Accounts launched the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle program in December 2009 to recognize local governments across Texas that strive to meet a high standard for online financial transparency. The organization spotlights those local governments that open their financial books to the public, providing clear, consistent pictures of spending, and sharing information in a user-friendly format that lets taxpayers easily drill down for more information.
