Let's Close the Door on 2020!
Can I get a second to that motion? As we wrap up this last day of in-person and remote instruction for the calendar year 2020, all I can say is "Good riddance"!
2020 will forever be known as the year of COVID-19. I want to congratulate you on surviving The Year of Great Difficulty. It’s been impressive to see the courage, resilience, creativity and dedication of teachers, paraprofessionals, counselors, office staff, food service workers, administrators, bus drivers, custodians, and all of the other unsung heroes serving our children.
The good news is the new year is about to begin. While it will be a year with COVID-19 implications and changes in governance at the federal and state level, I know we have come out stronger and better and ready for ANYTHING.
Have a GREAT Christmas Break - See you next year!
~Kelly

Christmas Generosity
While I am not surprised by the generosity of our community, I am always very grateful when I get to witness the community giving to our students and their families in a time of need. Seeing people pay it forward warms my heart especially when I know the 'wizards behind the curtain'.
I appreciate the collaboration between the Rotary Club, several local churches and Bonham ISD in order that our students have the things they need during the cold winter months.
In addition, over 100 students from Bailey Inglish were adopted by Region 10 in Richardson this Christmas. Families submitted a wish list and then were given several wrapped gifts for each of their children - some even got a new bicycle.
I am so thankful for this relationship with the Education Service Center and the blessing they provided to these families this year!

Christmas Song Sing-Along at I.W. Evans
This is how you do a Christmas Sing-Along during COVID.
The video above is what I heard as I entered the 4th grade hall - never heard Feliz Navidad sound so good!!
Each class was part of a school-wide Zoom meeting so all the students were still able to sing Christmas Carols together!!
Mrs. Kennedy making all the magic happen behind the scenes for the sing-along!
A couple of the classrooms during the sing-along!

BHS Gingerbread Houses
Students in Mrs. Hunnicutt's Culinary Arts classes assembled and decorated gingerbread houses this week in class!!
Some pretty impressive creations!

COVID-19 vs FLU vs COLD???
The chart above is only meant for informational purposes. The chart does not diagnose or negate your need to seek advice from a medical professional - I just thought it was a great visual when symptoms can indicate multiple illnesses.
