School Custodian Appreciation Day - Friday, October 2nd
A person who has custody; keeper; guardian. A person entrusted with guarding or maintaining a property.
No BISD building or facility would continue to function without their custodian; especially those buildings where it is evident the custodian treats it like their very own and they are truly the keeper of the building.
I am especially glad that Blanca Martinez takes such good care of us here at Central Office. She comes early each morning in order that the offices and workspaces are ready to be occupied. Her attention to detail is beyond compare and never does a speck of dust or a renegade fingerprint get by her! It is always her that notices when the refrigerator needs to be cleaned out or that something has been sitting for a while and possibly forgotten about.
I am proud to call Blanca a friend and am lucky she chooses to work on our TEAM!

Bonham ISD and the City of Bonham Partner to Benefit Teachers and Students
The CARES (Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security) Act provides approximately $31 billion in emergency educational funding to students, schools, institutions and states across the country. Funding for schools can be used for cleaning and sanitizing facilities, purchasing educational technology such as laptops and hotspot devices and training educators to provide online/remote instruction.
Bonham ISD received $314,000 in CARES Act Funding. These funds will be expended to purchase cleaning and sanitization products, provide professional development to staff and purchase technology devices and programs.
The City of Bonham contributed $20,900 from their CARES Act allocation to Bonham ISD in order that the Texas Education Agency (TEA) would match their contribution and provide an additional $20,900.
This allocation from the City, along with the matching funds from TEA, allows Bonham ISD to purchase even more technology resources for teachers and students.
Bonham ISD is grateful for the willingness of City leaders to partner with the District in order to benefit students.

Due to Covid-19, Wal-Mart has made the decision not to do their flu clinics out in the community this year; therefore, they will NOT be offering a flu shot clinic at each campus this year. However, they wanted to let you know that you can still get your flu shot in the store. They will file on your insurance, just like when they come to us, so your benefits will all still be the same!!
Available starting...
Saturday, September 26th through the whole month of October!
* Any day from 9-2 at the pharmacy desk
*Tuesdays from 7-1 and Thursdays from 2-9 (in store, mini clinic)
You can fill out the application in the store, but they are requesting online applications if possible for faster processing!! Let Heather Lawson, BISD RN, know if you have any questions at heather.lawson@bonhamisd.org or at extension 2327!
