"Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber, and future of an individual. If the people remember me as a good teacher, that will be the biggest honour for me."
~ A. P. J. Abdul Kalam

Students in Action
Students in Ms. Matthews' class were learning how to do 'the wave'.
We know that movement is important throughout the day and these brain breaks coupled with getting our bodies active can stimulate and improve attention, focus and learning in the classroom.
Way to go 1st graders!!

Education Human Resources Appreciation Day
Mrs. Horton does a wonderful job working with staff to get them onboarded. She is patient, friendly and very knowledgable! Her consistency makes it very easy for the principals and directors to know and understand the employment process.
Bonham ISD is very fortunate to have Mrs. Horton working on our TEAM!

NEW SCHOOL ZONE SIGNAGE
New signage on Albert Broadfoot near Finley-Oates (at Warpath and Russell St.) and on Main Street near L.H. Rather and I.W. Evans (at 11th Street and 15th Street) has been installed by the City of Bonham.
The flashing school zone signs will remind drivers to control their speed to 20 mph during the hours of 7:15am - 8:00am and 2:45pm - 3:30pm (FO) or 3:00pm-3:45pm (LHR/IWE).
THANK YOU to the City of Bonham for helping keep our students safe!!

** COVID QUERY **
* You must stay home and off campus until the 14-day incubation period has passed AND you remain symptom free.
CAN I TAKE A COVID TEST AND IF NEGATIVE, RETURN TO WORK SOONER?
* Unfortunately not. The virus can take up to 14 days to incubate and you develop COVID. So a negative test in those 14 days, only means you don't have it that day but you could still develop it. If developed later in the 14-day period and you are on campus, you could potentially infect others.

Due to Covid-19, Wal-Mart has made the decision not to do their flu clinics out in the community this year; therefore, they will NOT be offering a flu shot clinic at each campus this year. However, they wanted to let you know that you can still get your flu shot in the store. They will file on your insurance, just like when they come to us, so your benefits will all still be the same!!
Available starting...
Saturday, September 26th through the whole month of October!
* Any day from 9-2 at the pharmacy desk
*Tuesdays from 7-1 and Thursdays from 2-9 (in store, mini clinic)
You can fill out the application in the store, but they are requesting online applications if possible for faster processing!! Let Heather Lawson, BISD RN, know if you have any questions at heather.lawson@bonhamisd.org or at extension 2327!

OUT OF THE DARKNESS WALK - Sat. October 3rd
If you would like to participate on the Bonham ISD team, you may register on our team page at https://afsp.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donordrive.team&teamID=262415.
The community walk and donations benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The Foundation's mission is to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide through scientific research, educational programs for businesses and communities, policies and legislation and resources for those affected by suicide.
We are working on getting team shirts done. We are using the same design as before, so if you previously walked and still have your shirt then you're good to go. If not, send Jana Garner your size via email to jana.garner@bonhamisd.org.
