Principal & Assistant Principal Appreciation Lunch
In honor of School Principal Appreciation Week, BISD principals and assistant principals were treated to lunch at the Purple Haze Cafe on Tuesday. They enjoyed being served lunch, dessert and tea by the students. I appreciate all the principals and assistant principals do for the staff, students and families of Bonham ISD!!

Finley-Oates Lunch
Students enjoying eating locally.
Phyllis Kinnaird, Child Nutrition Director, partnered with Kissling Family Farms to bring locally raised beef to the students of Finley-Oates for lunch. All the meat in the tacos was raised on the local farm.
Board Member Jeri Lea Johnson, Chief Financial Officer Alicia Lang, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Faith-Ann Cheek, Phyllis Kinnaird and I handed out 'I Tried Local' bookmarks to the students eating tacos on Wednesday. We also explained to the students that the meat they were eating came from cows raised on a farm in Bonham - many students seems surprised and excited to learn that fun fact.
Mrs. Kinnaird piloted the idea at Finley-Oates and it seemed to be a hit!! I am looking forward for more local foods to come to the students and staff of the District.
